Ali Kouros
Managing Partner
Mr. Kouros has over 20 years of experience in the energy industry, including more than 15 years in energy private equity investing. He is currently Managing Partner of Windmark Capital, LLC, and serves as a Senior Advisor to Yorktown Partners LLC. From 2020 to 2023, he served as a Senior Advisor to Jefferies & Company, Inc., in connection with the spin-out and subsequent listing of Vitesse Energy, LLC (NYSE: VTS). From 2016 to 2019, Mr. Kouros served as a Senior Advisor to Blackstone’s Tactical Opportunities funds, focusing on energy-related investments. From 2010 to 2016, he was an investment professional at EIG Global Energy Partners. Earlier in his career, Mr. Kouros worked in the energy investment banking group at Jefferies & Company, Inc., after starting as a petroleum engineer with Sabco Oil and Gas Company. Mr. Kouros holds a B.S. in Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master’s in Finance from Tulane University.
Hunt Lawrence
Managing Partner
Mr. Lawrence is the founder and a senior manager of Yorktown Partners, a firm that has managed 12 energy-focused private equity partnerships for over 25 years. Before Yorktown, Mr. Lawrence spent 31 years at Dillon, Read & Co. Inc., rising to Managing Director before the firm’s merger with SBC Warburg in September 1997. Mr. Lawrence also serves as a director of Ramaco Resources, Inc., Riley Exploration Permian, Inc., Hallador Energy Company, and Kestrel Heat LLC (the general partner of Star Group, L.P.). He holds additional directorships at several non-public energy companies in which Yorktown holds equity interests. Mr. Lawrence is a graduate of Hamilton College and holds an M.B.A. from Columbia University.
Carly Mraz
Analyst
Ms. Mraz is an Analyst at Windmark. She is a 2025 graduate of Princeton University, where she earned a B.A. in History with a focus on U.S. foreign relations. Before joining the firm, Ms. Mraz served as an analyst for Literate AI and gained public sector experience working with the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, specifically within the Special Programs Division.
